Parent and Child at the Supermarket

Circle of Security® Parenting™ Program (COS-P)

At times, all parents feel lost, confused, or clueless about what our child may need from us. As a parent, we always wished our child came with a manual. Imagine what it might feel like if you were able to make sense of what your child was really asking from you.

When parents face a young kid being afraid of leaving them to explore the environment, or a teenager who has challenging behaviours at school, we may not be aware that the early-year relationship with our child is one of the crucial factors. Secure attachment is important to children, especially in younger years. When a child has formed a secure attachment with parents, their confidence increases, and they become more willing to explore the environment.

Happy Mother's Day

The Circle of Security® Parenting™ program is based on decades of research about how secure parent-child relationships can be supported and strengthened. It is a video-based intervention that strengthens parents’ abilities to observe and improve caregiving skills.

Using the Circle of Security® Parenting™ model developed by the Circle of Security originators, Dr. Fanny Lam works with parents, care-givers, educators and medical professionals to help them to:

  • Understand their child’s emotional world by learning to read emotional needs

  • Support their child’s ability to successfully manage emotions

  • Enhance the development of their child’s self esteem

  • Honor the innate wisdom and desire for their child to be secure
